Submitted Post: Declare His Majesty

This was submitted by a reader and I like his thought and story he shares. Faith is individual journey experienced in community with other believers. Thanks Aaron for sharing this!

This is something that I posted on my tumblr as well, but I wanted to share with you, as we are called to speak of the awesome works of the Lord to one another and hoping it will be an encouragement (Psalm 145:10-12).

Psalm 145:4-7 NKJV

4 One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. 5 I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works. 6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare your greatness. 7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness.

I work in a restaurant. Today, I went into work to deliver two caters that were to be taken to two different elementary schools. At first, my co-workers and I got the first cater ready, and we put it in my car, ready for the deliver. Everything went smoothly, I dropped off the food and I was given $45, because the cost was $42.17 to pay for the food and delivery. So I put the money in my RIGHT pocket, the same pocket my keys are in. So I take out my keys and drive back to work to get ready for the second cater.
I check for the money to put in the register to pay for the food. I check all my pockets one by one and cannot find the $45. I TURN MY POCKETS INSIDE OUT AND THERE IS NO MONEY. Like the person I normally am, I start to panic, so thinking the money fell out of my pocket as I took out my keys to leave the elementary school, my boss told to go back while another co-worker delivered the other cater. It was about a 10 minute drive back to the school. Hoping, and praying to God that the money was there…it wasn’t.
As I got back to work, I told my boss, because I had lost the money, I was willing to take full responsibility and pay for what the tips didn’t pay, to pay the rest out of my pocket. I didn’t have any cash, so I used my debit card to pay off the rest of the money owed. I got home, without any tips, or cash for my trouble, but instead I was out $22.17.
I take my keys out of my right pocket and I take out my wallet as I’m walking to my bedroom, and i reach my hand into my LEFT pocket and I feel folded cash. I immediately stop, and slowly take out the money. It was the money that was supposed to be used to pay for the cater. I whisper, “Thank you, God”. I unfold the money and count it. Whether it was just a confusion about the amount for the food, or something else, it was $40 cash. So I gained about $20. I just laughed. It was God who had the money in my pocket. Afterwards I thank God for his mercy and for answering my prayers of finding the money…it just wasn’t were I had asked for it to be. So after panicking, and praying, and sweating over this money that was nowhere to be found, hidden from me, at the end of everything, God answers prayer.

Psalm 145:1-3, 8-9, 17-21 NKJV

1 I will extol You, My God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. 2 Every day I will bless you, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. 3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.

8 The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. 9 The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.

17 The LORD is righteous in all His way, gracious in all His works. 18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. 19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. 20 The LORD preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked, He will destroy. 21 My mouth shall speak of the praise of the LORD, and all flesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever.
